bert the fert 28
I noticed some [ for want of a better word ] foreign poop in the chicken pen this morning. It was about the size and shape of a piece of pet coke; kinda oval. Dark and fibrous. I wondered if it might be from a badger ? Anyone know ?

I never thought of an owl, but i bet you're right because i have seen a couple hereabouts. It wasn't in the cabin itself, just the outer pen which is usually open at night. The birds are secure in their coop then.

Romany 1,065
Saw a sparrow hawk take a blackie and drop near to the bushes, I ran over and the sparrow hawk flew off and left the blackie fluttering about on the grass, then a cat ran out from the bushes and took the blackie..just wasnt that blackbirds day.. runforyourlife 361
for the last 3 yrs we have had foxes breeding and living in the garden(under a unit). Till they drove the lurchers to despare sitting outside the dog runs looking at them!! Even found a cub floating in the pond face down after trying to drink, and fell in.. had the odd roe deer walk through. Also rabbits, badger, sparrowhawks, buzzards, nuthatch, peckers, siskins, bullfinch, etc....

comanche 3,045
Doesn't rank as particuarly impressive but its a bit of a mystery. Alpine newts have turned-up in my garden pond over the last couple of years. I can only think that they came as eggs on a bit of weed I collected.
