Guest crobinc840
Now I know a Lurcher is a sighthound mixed with a pastoral dog or terrier as stated in the dictionary My link But ther are plenty of other breeds bred with a sighthound that are still considered Lurchers. Which breeds would you consider to still be a Lurcher? Which breeds do you think are not Lurchers? (sighthound is a given) Quote Link to post

Gaz_1989 9,539
That whippet jack sounds handy. What do use it for? Bushing? Ratting? Quote Link to post
Guest crobinc840
It's not mine it's in a shelter as far as I know. Thanks for the replies. It just seems some mixes are frowned upon because it's not the norm. Quote Link to post
shushycatcher 219
that whippet x jack would make a cracking little ferreting and bushing dog! Quote Link to post

But trying something new is a big risk sometimes when we are talking about 10 years of your life with a beast. Also some folk just want something 'different' with more regard to form than function. 1 Quote Link to post

Wow do people here actually spend 10 years with the dogs Yes I know some do as I'm one of them. Sometimes the tried and trusted breeding still has poor results but I'm not sure if it comes down to lack of trainning more than the dog itself. Recently it seems the bull mixes are very popular but to me I feel a dog with a bull mouth would crush a rabbit. My Lurcher does have some bull but not much. Quote Link to post
