North Country Boy 0
I was working in Clumber Park yesterday when we were alerted to an eagle owl sat in the woodland play area, a very rare sight in britain. A twitcher who was there told me it could be an escapee and probably not a wild one.

Seen 3 European Eagle Owls in the last 3 or 4 years. Told a bloke I know when I'd seen the first one, he was sceptical but he saw one with me a few months later when we were out shooting. (All in Cornwall, nearest one was about a mile away from my place.) Cheers, D.
KittleRox 2,147
I,ve kept aviary birds on and off for 30yrs,used to see eagle owls in the mags for sale all the time from £50 to £150,so theres probably lots of escapees or birds that have been released when folk got bored with them and are probably breeding in this country. Its the same scenario with Indian ring necked parakeets, theres an established wild colony in Hyde park amongst other places, they,re often seen at bird tables,
