tomburras 2,730
that's similar to what i did a couple of years ago. i sent glossy postcards made on vista print with a cover letter and a stamped addressed envelope. i sent 250 to random farms all around me and had one reply, which is still my permission now and was well worth all the effort. seen these for the next campaign shooting cards i bet the ordnance survey maps would show lots of missed farms! great advice and spa Quote Link to post
psm 43
never had a prob getting permission and never had a farmer say no yet, even got 2 more pers yesterday around a large shooting estate,so long as you are insured and have some of your pers with you and farmers numbers for refs there should be no probs, ive a good rep and if you earn it with the local farmers the word spreads Quote Link to post
Buster321c 1,010
never had a prob getting permission and never had a farmer say no yet, even got 2 more pers yesterday around a large shooting estate,so long as you are insured and have some of your pers with you and farmers numbers for refs there should be no probs, ive a good rep and if you earn it with the local farmers the word spreads I posted it mate , so it would help people just starting out , give em some ideas ect . You must be one of the very lucky one`s , never had a farmer say no ? and never had a problem getting it ? well done you !!! The thing is , anyone can be insured , but a reputation needs to be earn`t and respect built .We all have to start somewhere , and for the beginners , it all helps . I remember starting out on my own , never had anyone show me anything , and never had help getting a shoot . The beginners need encouraging , and showing the right path , rather than to be left to their own devices , and scolded for doing wrong . They , like as not , will be the future of our sport . As you say though , a good reputation and word will spread , as i ,like yourself , have many shoots that have come from `word of mouth ` . If it does`nt give anyone any help , nothing lost . If it helps just one person in some small way , then it was well worth posting , and if it makes people be `aware ` of how to approach land owners , and respect others in a bid to futher our sport then its worth a gold star Love Uncle Bust .
