BBB 7
if you watch his early fights when cus demato was alive. tyson was always bobbin and weavin about seems when demato died . tyson changed his style very little head movement i think he was GOOD but not GREAT he was basicaly a bully , most of his oppenents had lost before they entered the ring.just because of his reputation when ever he fought somebody who wasnt intimidated by him,, he lost
BULL 99
A gobshite of a man, who's full of excuses and just was not as good as he and all his fanboys liked to think he was. i hate the man he became and loved it when lewis and holifield smashed him but..........he was 19 years old when he won the world title then unified them then systematically smashed every heavyweight in the world at that time avoiding none!!.....hes a piece of shit in my eyes now but ......in his prime he was every bit aS GOOD AS HE THOUGHT HE WAS,

the_stig 6,614
berbick, smith, pinklon thomas, tony tucker, tyrell biggs, tony tubbs,holmes,spinks-- the best that was around and all big names at the time ...if you look at tysons early am and pro fights he was raw -- raised his game during the 80s early 90s fought what was put in front of him during the mid 90s to early 2000 when holyfield and lewis apart the heavyweight scene was at its worst ... as for bruno good honest fighter knew his limits gave brits something to cheer on had many a good night at bruno fights ... BWAHAHAHAHAHAHAHAHAHA!!!!!!!!! You're trying to tell me that the heavyweight scene in the 's was better than what it was in the 90's BWAHAHAHAHAHAHAHAHA!!!!!! Ridiculous!!!! Morrison, Mercer, Moorer and those guys were better than those who were juggling the titles amongst each other in the 's. Berbick - less than mediocre Smith - A journey man with a punch Thomas - even worse Tucker - not bad but not a career defining opponent Tyrell Biggs - laughable Tony Tubbs - Holmes was a great boxer, but had been out of the ring two years touring around the USA on the piss and singing songs before he fought Tyson without even setting foot into a gym before the fight with Tyson. Had he fought Tyson at HIS best or even after having a year or so shaking off the ring rust and training properly he'd of boxed his ears off! Spinks - a blown up Light Heavyweight. Next to what we have today, the 's was possibly THE worst era in heavyweight boxing history. from the mid 90s bowe, bruno, akinwande ffs all world champs .. i`ll leave you to your thread :notworthy:

micky 3,325
he has the hardest punch on record. brain damaging Just ask Bruno... as far as I am aware george forman still holds the reckord for the worlds most powerfull punch on reckord but I could well be wrong but I am sure I saw it on a documentry not too long ago. and i personaly think tyson in his hay day was one of the best there was certainly better than the micky mouse shit I paid £14 to watch the outher week he would nock the pair of them puffs out. Is that all ya got George?

Next to what we have today, the 's was possibly THE worst era in heavyweight boxing history. Of the names listed there i actually thought Spinks had the best chance of beating Tyson.....shows what i know .......it was THE worst era of heavyweight boxing, thats not even up for debate ! Mike Spinks was a class act and in my opinion would have beat any other heavyweight of that era apart from Tyson...i actually had a lot of money on Spinks to win that fight ...if he had come in with the right attitude he would have stood a good chance as stylistically he could have given Tyson a lot of trouble. Tyson is a very good historian of the sport and gained great knowledge from Jimmy Jacobs....but the harsh truth is that many of the impressionable Tyson worshippers cant seem to grasp is that he just wasnt a fighter in his heart, with his back to the ropes and things not going his way he could not and would not fight his way out of it,that comes from within it dont matter how physically powerful you are if you are weak on the inside. As for the idiots knocking Frank Bruno as a useless soft touch,he reached the very highest level of his sport through dedication and hard work.........what did you ever reach the top of your profession at ? jasper65 6
whatever we say the guy was a tremendouse talent when he hit the scene under the guidence of Cus De Mato. he was fast and hit hard with both hands switching punches quicker than most Heavyweights could dream of, seems like his whole life took a turn for the worse after the death of his mentor which was a sad shame. I can't say anything bad about the guy as I loved watching him fight! also Can't say another headyweight since then has given me a buzz quite like Tyson. This finish on Pinklon Thomas was ruthless to say the least. Tyson Vs Thomas KO

Tyson Vs Thomas KO Everyone always bangs on about Cus Damato.... its BACAUSE of Cus Damato that Tyson went the way he did personality wise....taking in a young talented lad and teaching him boxing skills is great, but taking in a lad and allowing him to run riot doing what he wants and abusing people while teaching him boxing skills is just wrong....but that said,no boxing trainer can put in what nature left out .... Tysons speed and explosive power made him look spectacular while climbing the ladder.... his internal weakness and lack of heart made him look just as spectacular falling back down the ladder ! charliehunter100 22
have to agree there tyson was a top class knock out specialist and if he got you early on you were in trouble but if you could got him in to round four or above and get him in a corner he was the one in trouble then look when buster did him once he realised he was not knocking him out and had to fight him he lost his head and the belt take away his knock out ability and you left with an average fighter in my opinion
