Ive always regretted it when ive shot a hare they should not be shot ...the only time ive regreted taking them with a dog is when they have been killed easy and not even put a turn in

I think the biggest shame is that someone sees fit to start a topic having a pop at another hunters chosen way of hunting...........little better than an anti IMHO.......

Love to all

Arsehole

Me too snoop  .......I have no illusions about being a keeper

:hunter: I don't like shooting the things as they are too heavy

An Estate near me shoots them to stop the nice Gentlemen from other counties coming and taking them of a night time, me personally as i know both camps, couldn't care less,i see both views. To one set they are "fair game" a natural harvest and a test for your dog,to the other a cause of someone coming on your land when you'd rather they didn't.

The terrible thing though, due to this pisspoticle Government, is running them is a bit naughty.

i like the odd shot now and again with the rifle but i never took much pleasure in shooting hares... i can honestly say i have only ever shot about 3 hares in my life time (twice for the pot and once when i ran out of meat for the dogs) and on each occassion i couldnt help but feel a little sad!!! the make up of a hare is, imo, a miracle of nature!!! and has it not taken man a long time to develop a dog to match it??? i dont like driven hare shoots, to me its like cheating :) ....

i also need to ask what is the purpose of a hare drive?? i dont think hares are that big a problem... as for farmers shooting hares to keep poachers off their ground??? farmers should open there eyes and see how useful a poacher can be...not all poachers are bad, infact most are good lol... the only difference with a legit hunter and a poacher is a knock on the door to ask can i or cant i!!! speakin as a farmer myself, we never had to worry about foxes takin lambs etc... when i was abroad for a year my oul boy told me that there was lads lampin our back fields... he was glad of it at lambin time, no lambs were takin that year and one time he found a note on the gate saying that a sheep was stuck in the wire and they made sure it was ok, how nice was that :thumbs-up: ....i might cause a few arguements :11:, a bit of drama will do no harm :)
