socks 32,253
Sunday morning seen me jump out of bed at 06.15 into my hunting kit, and into the garage to get the kettle on and the sausages in the grill, ready for Phil and the Chicky( the Bosnian refugee ) who are always starving when they turn up. As the food was cooking, I loaded up all the nets, long nets, ferrets, the dog sorted the ferrets collars, made my grub for the day, and looked at my watch expecting them at any minuet ... I then get a text off Phil, saying he was running late, apparently he got lost going from his bedroom to his bathroom, and it took him ages to get his bearings ... Great, I am all ready, and I now have to wait 20 mins longer ... Then Chicky rings, sorry mate to much whisky and rugby, I am running late ... We eventually got to the first warren at 09.30, over 3 hours after I got up,.. GREAT ..... Anyway, we had a good day with Chicky watching Dusty, one of the pups out of his sire Jock, work the warren, and snatch up bolting bunnies .. The youngster has a tremendous turn of speed and can turn inside herself ... by the end of the season she is going to be one serious ferreting dog ... It was a cold day on the open hillsides but we managed 33 healthy rabbits by 3. and decided the pubs warm fire was calling ............. BIG DEEP WARRENS ................ DUSTY, WAITING FOR A BOLT .......... HER PATIENCE PAID OFF ........... THIS ONE WAS GOING NOWHERE .......... THE DOGS MAKING SURE I DIDNT LOSE ANY ............. THE BOSNIAN REALLY WANTED THIS ONE (he must have been starving) ............ IF YOU HAVE A FERRET,. DUSTY IS YOURS ......... THE BOSNIAN HAS A FEW ........... THIS ONE DIDNT GET FAR .............. END OF THE DAY 2 HAPPY HUNTERS AND DOGS ............ Quote Link to post
