Hi all we were out on a permision yesterday post mixie not great numbers but a good day out 6 rabbits , when I gutted one the fat inside was bright yellow never seen it before any ideas will post puc later

It was bright yellow , yep they all had winter fat but bright yellow

He started real well.went through a bit of a lazy period but seems to be over it now . A bit chunky at the moment with winter fat

I've had the odd rabbit with bright yellow fat, and from the same warren as rabbits with normal white fat. I thought it was something to do with what the rabbit had eaten, but I don't think it can be: anyone else got any ideas. They taste just the same as white fat rabbits by the way.

i caught and gutted a rabbit this morning with loads of white fat the most ive ever seen on a rabbit. it also had had its ears bitten off probably by its mother when a kit. but maybe it was a really fat rabbit because it comfort ate because the other rabbits laughed at its stumpy ears??

its just an annimal thing we get a few sheep that have yellow fat and a yellow carcase but there is nothing wrong with them

Yea i worked in a slaughter house years ago, we used to see alot of it, we called it flair fat..

Could it have been feeding off trees the tannin off the bark cause's there fat to turn yellow?

God it's only fat like everyone above has said, it will be ok for you to eat if you want to.....
