Most have long hours mate in the working week, but it pays the bills, i work mon to fri on week one and mon to sat week 2 also,

the job prospects are there to progress up the ladder if you wish in the warehouse, i'd go for it,

In this day and age its a job mate and full time.... not to be sniffed at...

good luck with your decision. i know which i'd go for.

How old are you Wxm?

Firstly you do not sound lazy one bit, wish there were more people like you in the UK. I take my hat off to you.

Your current job sounds like a dead end job, and it's outside. (If your happy to work outside then fine)

Before you decide which path to take, consider your options in terms of travel costs, are the buses reliable in your area.(You don't want to start arriving late for work), and what type of factory work it is. I wouldn't want to be lifting heavy stuff,i.e loading vans ect..... or doing a production line job. IMO it would just numb me. Also see what promotions there are for you to go for once you have been there a while. And most importantly the people who work there.

If it's a career your after then apply now before it's too late! ;)

I wish you all the best in all you do.

:victory:

cheers mate ... im 23 and have only been out of work 18 months since leaving school in 2003 so dont think i've done too bad ... and the only reason i was out of work was because i got made redundant last year.

the car park attendant is a cush number, meeting new people day in day out .. but i have only 1 way to get there and thats by train.

i have been late twice in 5 weeks due to the train (only 10 / 15 min) but i was still late and im sure they wont stand for it if it carrys on.

the earliest bus gets there at around 10am so thats no good.

there is another bus but it drops me off about a mile or so away but that comes just before the train lol so its eaither catch the bus or take a chance with the train.

(takes 3min to bike to the train station

train takes 11min to get there then

takes 6min to bike to the hosp)

the new job is in demon tweeks and i've seen a few warehouses and i must say this is the cleanest and most organised i've seen 10 out of 10.

i have a couple next door that go to the ind est for 8:30 that i may ask if they would like to split fuel .. i have 2 bus conections i can pick from in case i dont catch the 1st.

the traveling didn't bother me it was just the saturday ... but like a few have said if you wont to get anywhere you have to work for it ... it was just a change getting back in to work after 18 months of being out of work then 5/6 weeks later changing to another job.

the car parking job was only a steping stone anyway so i could sort out christmas a bit better this year and to sort out the new house (well been here 8 months but theres the od thing needs doing) plus to get back in to work.

You wont have no problems sorting yourself out. You sound like a fair and honest person with a good character. It's people like you WXM that go far and get what they want!

Normally I would say a bird in the hand is worth two in the bush...

But this new number sounds like a better stepping stone for things to come. Go for it, an don't tell your current employer untill you know it's a cert.

Take time to think it over, like you are, and you will make the best decision.

All the best and good luck, whatever you choose.

cheers mate i went to see the employer of the new place last night and he has said to hand my notice in as the jobs mine .. so its just a case of makin sure its the [bANNED TEXT] decision.

the reason i asked on here is because id say theres a good few thats been in my shoes once or twice and a good few years under their belt .. if i asked lads i know it would be a no brainer and be told to stay where i am .. due to the fact that of the hours and with it being a hospital the endless suppy of nurses :boogie: lol

but i cant be @rsed with that anymore im more interested in the money and what i can do with it .. they only thing i was on 2 minds of was the everyother sat .... but as 1 or 2 has said i'll get used to it and i can move things around it

Personally I would go for the warehouse job. It may open other doors for you.

I left School 14 years ago at 16 with only standard grades and had a load of dead end jobs. At 19 I got a job in a warehouse for a local plumbers merchant and took it because it was better than the job I had. I worked hard, turned up on time and worked my way up to the sales office, then a branch manager then to an Area manager covering Scotland. I left two years ago to start my own heating company and have never looked back.

You only get one shot at life so make the most of it.

When I was younger I wanted to be a farmer or a gamekeeper because I liked the outdoor life, dogs and shooting etc but in a way I am glad I didn't go down that route. I think it is better to get a good, well paid job then keep your hobby a hobby.

Good luck what ever you choose.

Stay on the car park and get on the fiddle like every other fella working there will be on .................

You might not think there's one, but I bet there is!

Yeah there is, I worked on one when I was about 18 and people needed passes to get on the car park that I worked for, If they didn't have a pass I'd charge them £2 to leave their car there for the day. The money was sh*t but you'd make up for it if you let people in that shouldn't be there. And not only that, I've never pulled so many slags in all my life doing that job :tongue4: There was a Hotel next to the car park and the Chamber maids were right dirts, and the birds that were students at the college were entertaining to say the least as well.
