at the min i work as a car park attendant.

8am - 4pm mon-fri ... 40 hours a week @ £6hr the most i can take away is £12480 before tax

but they dont do overtime if you need that little extra

also this is a temp job until they know whats happening with the chap im covering for, as he's on the sick.

but i've been offered another job as a warehouse op. £15000 a year

same again they dont do overtime if you need that little extra

8:30am - 5:30pm mon-fri week 1

8:30am - 5:30pm mon-sat week 2

i just dont know what to do ... i dont drive so the car park attendant job i have been biking to the train station 1 end getting the train to as close to the car park as i can and biking around. approx 2 miles a day biking. (been a pain in the @rse when raining)

but the warehousing job i have to get 2 buses ... 1 from mine to wrexham then from wrexham to the ind est. i dont think i have to walk more than 1/2 a mile.

i like the car park attendant job as the hours are great but money aint there .. and on the other hand the warehouse job has the money but im not keen on the hours .. the place is spotless and looks a really nice place to work .. i have no major problems getting there by bus.

anyone care to throw in a idea or 2 .... or just say what would you do?

I work saturdays when I need to mate, roughly once a month and the odd sunday. Best day to work if you ask me..... plenty of sport on the radio etc. It's like everything, if you dont work a saturday you think its unthinkable to do so but its amazing how quick you get used to it. You can go for your forklift licence etc, it'll open up more doors for you mate

Hi bud. It,s a hard one for me.I can walk to my job in under five mins.so i find it hard to look else wear.Plus i asked for fewer hours last year and got them.If i moved i could earn more money. But then i would have to travel and pay for it.So for me it,s six and half a dozen.

i'd stay where you are mate,

1) better the devil you know

2) if your getting by and enjoying your time with family and dogs, money aint everything

3)your only gonna be £49 a week better off before tax, and youve got to work every other saturday to get it, then theres the extra bus fare, so you'll prob be worse off

stick to yer guns mate till something better comes along

Myself fella i'd prefer the parking job out in the fresh air even if it is a bit of a twat all the rain and cold meeting different people etc even in the pissy weather .I worked in a warehouse for 6 years and can honestly say never again

How old are you Wxm?

Firstly you do not sound lazy one bit, wish there were more people like you in the UK. I take my hat off to you.

Your current job sounds like a dead end job, and it's outside. (If your happy to work outside then fine)

Before you decide which path to take, consider your options in terms of travel costs, are the buses reliable in your area.(You don't want to start arriving late for work), and what type of factory work it is. I wouldn't want to be lifting heavy stuff,i.e loading vans ect..... or doing a production line job. IMO it would just numb me. Also see what promotions there are for you to go for once you have been there a while. And most importantly the people who work there.

If it's a career your after then apply now before it's too late! ;)

I wish you all the best in all you do.

:victory:
