IM IN A BATTLE WITH 3 DOGS MY 2 TERRIERS B.O.D AND CROMWELL ARE BOUNCING OFF THE WALLS. MYLURCHER OLIVER IS RECOVERING FROM THE RED ITCH AND WHEN ITAKE ANY OF DOGS OUT ONE LOT GOES BANANNAS .SO IM FXXXXD .NO HUNTING FOR 3 TURNS.I WENT ON TO NEXT GEN.

THERES A LOT OF YOUNG BOYS/GIRLS ON THERE LOOKING FOR EXPERINCED MEN /WOMEN LIKE YOURSELFS TO GIVE THEM A HAND .WEE SIT HEAR GOING OVER THE SAME OLD SXXT .WHOS GOING TO HELP THESE SCUDS.THE XBOX HAS FXXXXED OUR WAY OF LIFE.I HAVE SONS AND DAUGHTERS AND THEY CAN FERRET/ WORK DOGS/AND SHOOT/AND POACH FISH.EVEN IF YOU NO SOMETHING TEACH IT TO THE NEW GEN.IF YOU DONT HOW WILL WE SURVIVE IN THIS SXXT TIME.TIME TO THINK AHEAD.3TURNS

agree 150% mate,i,m trying 2 get my young kids into it , they are ,they go lamping ,fereting,fishing ,i know what you saying a bout the computer,once ive had them out thats whats draws them back in,and i,ve arrange 2 meet a few local young hunters who wants 2 get out and learn,so come on everybody lets try and get the young of the computers and in the field

my oldest lad has never shown an intrest but my youngest is like the dogs if he hears the chains rattling he comes to life ,he,s been coming out with us since he was about 8 and totaly loves it he,s 19 now and has just saved up and bought his first dog a bullgrey ,he,s been showed the ropes from an early age and is ready to start out on his own lamping nights god only knows what he,ll be dragging up the back entry in the middle off the night lol but fairplay to him and best of luck i say

Always like to give the young ones a go at this game........be doing exactly that tomorrow,me and my mate are taking a young lad out.I'll not be giving him all the crap jobs like carrying everything but getting him involved in netting up and entering the ferrets,we have to remember that these young kids need more than x-boxes and playstations in their lives.

your right mate, i take my boy whos 2 1/2 on my shoulders day walking, hes a bit young for lamping, things can get hectic, my daughter came once, loves the dogs but also the quarry, but shes soft like that,

 

Round here theres loadsa kids do it, its a pain sometimes cos they all phone me to take them out and I hate leaving some behind but lately i stopped taking the youngsters, not cos they are loud or naughty, simply if I get caught I will get done 10 times worse for encouraging youngsters and aiing and abetting them, now I offer advice but let them walk miles like I used to when I were a kid.better have the little tearaways walking across fields all night than walking the streets terrorising old people etc cos they have nothing better to do, been there i know what goes on, shooting windows, cars, buses trains with catty, the list is endless even walking the streets killing cats,

 

They must enjoy lamping more than these other things otherwise they wouldnt be phoning me every day to go. Good sign, round here anyways thre will still be people here doing it in 30 years. me included

I have two sons (23)&(21)they were both brought ferreting and fishing from an early age and enjoyed it until they discovered girls and drink, in which order I am unsure but it ended their days out with me for a few years.

My eldest son has no interest but my younger lad has come back to hunting and is showing a natural talent for it.

I am one proud father happy with the fact that ferreting will be carried on to the next generation in the family.

My great grandfather,grandfather & uncle hunted,fished,etc etc and I am the 4th generation to carry on a family tradition which my son has now come back to making him the 5th generation.
