picking up

hi i have a young lab (15 months) and have come to a bit of a standstill with her so any advice would be appreciated .i have trained lots of spaniels but this is the first lab!!her parents are untrained workers (as in they have the background but havent really been used/trained )her dam wont pick just inclined to lick pheasantsbut she has got a really good nose .now the one i am working with i am not expecting to be a world beater just adequate in the field .i have her steady in the gun line and behind the line and she will hunt up really nicely dropping to flush and to shot which i am really pleased with so far but ..... she will not pick shot or cold game .she finds it really well and marks better than a lot of other dogs i have trained but when she gets out to it she ll either pull it about with no intention of picking it thenlose interest .she is cock on with dummies and fur covered dummies and will pick a pigeon or pheasant if covered with a pair of tights but will not pick if the tights arent there and wont even pick a dummy with a wing attached i am not losing patience yet but need some advice .do i kep her going with the tights or should i really be trying a different approach?when she does pick she invariably carries badly but i put that down to experience .any help greatly appreciated thanks

line up with another dog let the your dog see the other dog getting the retrieve and u make a fuss over the dog .... then send your dog if she shows interest and doesnt pick it send other dog usually makes ur pick the bird... big fuss
