Coundnt we all make a big deal about our own lines and strains of ferrets?

Its a load of bullshit mate ferrets are ferrets you get good ones and bad ones regaurdless on what strain there off

I have had working ferrets for nearly 40 yrs I know ferrets are ferrets some good some not so good. All I asked has any one had any from this line of ferrets, that should have been a simple enough thing to ask. I knew a old guy a few years back used to bread a few they were all slightly smaller than normal which is what I like, and every one I had from him went strait to work, and I have had one or two over the years. Same with this line of ferrets all I asked are they any good I know you cant say all of them will work but some one must have had some from this line and just say yes mine were good /bad what ever it may have been. That should not have made people angry. If I am short of a jill and I want to pay what ever I like thats up to me I have baught and sold many in 40 years and a ferret is worth what its worth to the buyer. This forum should be a place where any one can ask a simple question and get a answer with out the anger that this caused.

i dont think hes asking about the workability of the strain,i think hes more interested in the size of the strain

You'll all be wanting 5 generation pedigrees with your ferrets soon.

Guess some people believe that they can create better ferrets by breeding them to a certain standard. I think it's a great idea and it could only better the future generations. Let's just hope they don't go crazy with the price.

i have william black breeding ferrets, a very good friend of mine is williams nephew. i first aquired a jill from him in 1993 but i was just a young lad trying anything. i gave her away at 4 month old and didn,t think about him again untill 7 years later when i was struggling to find small reliable working ferrets. i was sold a working jill for 40 pounds. i have never strayed from his strain since, i swap young(to get fresh blood) with william each season. i have sold these ferrets and guaranteed them to be exellent workers, ive never had a complaint and people generally come back for another or at least a mating. i,ve even got ferrets of mine in france and italy! i bred "big jeff" who bolted 43 rabbits in 2 hours for young billy back in 2003 on fitzhews bank.

£40 for a ferret in 1993?? Hes Dreaming!

43 rabbits in 2 hours, if there plenty rabbits does it matter how many you bolt if there no rabbits in the holes you aint going bolt any.

Guaranteed excellent worker??

This just seems like bit of money making scam to people or kids that dont know much about the sport. :gunsmilie:
