chartpolski 23,243
Patience, patience, patience ! If these are your first running dogs, then I think you have picked the wrong breed, and trying to bring on two pups only doubles the problems ! What you have described is typical of Saluki's ! In the right hands, they can be great dogs; in the wrong hands, a nightmare ! And if you wanted lamping dogs...... you have made a big mistake !! O.K., the Saluki lads will say they can lamp..... but there are far better dogs for lamping than pure Salukis !! Cheers. 1 Quote Link to post

Saluqihounds 150
Unfortunately I don't really have time to give a suitable reply just now as am away to my bed and it's really more about thinking of the picture rather than individual problems. In the meantime have a look over on my Forum, there are plenty of posts giving general 'handling' advice from people who are actually running pures. I'll do my best to get back to you tomorrow with some of the ideas I have about handling them. Regards Mark Edited November 17, 2010 by Saluqihounds Quote Link to post

Your answer will come shortly. Have another look at the replies. CP did not mention that your dog was badly socialised. Owning a pure is a test of patience in the owner it's self, fail this and your whole training programme will too. Quote Link to post
