I dont hunt with a dog, i shoot and fish, i have not the skills to work a dog effectivly, and not the time to train one. I think if the (legal) ban continues then in time, perhaps 10 years or so many

If the repeal goes through and the vote goes our way then yes coursing along with staghunting, foxhunting, beagling and minkhunting will return to exactly how it was before November 2004

Hi there,

As far as I can see the ban on coursing will never be lifted. If anything there will be even more restrictions on what can be hunted. Unfortunately over the past umpteen years the dog game has been almost taken over by a new breed of 'hunters,' a term I use loosely, who have little regard for the quarry or the dogs used in the pursuit of the quarry. Before every jumps on me stating there are good dog men about, I am well aware that there are some, but we/they have been superseded by these pseudo hunters.

Unfortunately they will do/and have done more harm to the sport of hunting with dogs, than any anti ever will.

it might be somet to do with it being against the law some people will do it not only but in some ways because its illegal its like when pbt were banned how many people actually had them the people who wanted a dog to look hard had rottwiellers and dobermans but because the pbt is illegal they all have somet resembling them i dont think im getting my point accross how i mean but you may understand

imo even if they give a free vote it will not get overuled and even if it did they might make it harder than it is already by putting in to many rules . as it is there are loopholes which allow it to carry on if you are clever enough to use them .got pulled 4 times last season and got away with it every time .always be polite and freindly this along with a few other things always goes a long way .

It's a pity there's so much negative veiws. Personally if something is worth fighting for then fight for it.

If there's a glimmer of hope of getting it back through repeal from the new government then now is the time to start writing and meeting your local politicians. If enough people hassle them they might sit up and listen.

Also the few pounds that the organisations fighting for fieldsports cost is worth it too.
