DRP 3
so were did saluki`s get this stamina from? what were they originally bread from? did god just decide to make a saluki or did they originally come from say a grayhound and something else and they just kept selective breeding them till they got the saluki? im not trying to be a dick lol im am actually wanting to know. Natural selection and selective breeding, mate ! There's some wide open spaces out there in the Middle East, nothing for as far as the eye can see. A dog needs speed to get up on it's quarry and stamina to keep up with it. I'd imagine the wild dogs that were the forebears to the Saluki had survival of the fittest and when the Beduins breed them, looks don't come into it, best to the best and ruthless culling. I asked Sheik Hamed if he prefered Feathered or Smooth; he looked at me and said coat and colour mean nothing..it's how they perform that decides if they are good enough to breed Cheers. Which Sheikh Hamad did you speak with????? Quote Link to post

Hamed is probably the greatest supporter of pure Salukis in the world ! Which Sheik Hamed are you on about ? Cheers. Quote Link to post

BIG ZOOK 5
Couldnt be arsed to watch, but seen it before, dropped game, miles and miles of desart, a 4*4,more and more dogs added to the chase, not my kind of sport, and if i ever need a dog that can run for 5 minutes,i will give up,or get a fox hound.Sorry lads its not that imppressive. +1. each one to his own, but personally I love the dogs No worries, each to their own.But imo ,only one outcome ,when single/multiple dogs are run from a mobile platform, wich also doubles up as running barrier. But fook me it works and is just an adaptation of hunting methods. No way are those dogs, any way superior to those back home, giving the breeding and conditions.
