Blue one 89
What lines are you running Sean? Grand catch their by the whippet. I think Mike Browns lines are very good.. Quote Link to post
Sonny Brindle 2
I think most whippets will catch rabbits if given the chance, regardless of breeding. Obviously some are better than others, but most have quite strong prey drive. This is mine, pure show breeding, in fact his grandsire was Crufts supreme champion. Quote Link to post

wuyang 513
My first dog was a whippet he was from a very good showing pedigree, dondelayo and samarkands line. He reminds me of the one Sonny has shown. Mine was correct height and nicely built, well in my eyes anyway. I do think some are too tall tyese days. He was keen as mustard and ended up been good on the lamp, he did lack stamina if a daytime hare was put up, but had plenty enough for a good night on the lamp. The only thing i noticed was that he tended to chase rather than put in a quick strike, but as he got older his striking was good. I'm currently considering a whippet as my next dog but the high prices do annoy me. Sonny what lines are yours? Nice looking whippets, were you at the Wortley show this summer? _Sean_ 15
the bitch that took that fox is mostly barnesmore breeding (mainly show lines) but of a strain the breeder kept for working in previous years. i agree with sonny brindle that most will if given the chance but theres more to a working whippet then that ie hardyness and ability to take nocks Quote Link to post

He is mainly Oakbark breeding, a line which has lots of Dondelayo and Samarkand behind it, so probably very similar breeding to yours. 19.5" TTS. And all the characteristics you've described fit mine too – he is four this month and is much quicker to strike now than he was in his first two seasons. He's never going to be the world's greatest working dog, but he's really good fun to watch when running well, and a very easy dog to have around. With regards to Sean's comments about knocks, been lucky with him so far. A few cuts and bruises but no major issues. Edited November 17, 2010 by Sonny Brindle Quote Link to post

She will stop at nothing.. Quote Link to post
