Jamie m 668
Of course poaching still goes on but it's called theft nowadays , people get cheap enough meat from the supermarket , back when poaching took place for the pot then fair enough, but on a grander scale to line your pockets is theft , it's easy enough to get permision these days as the land isn't all owned by one miserable estate ,and farmings changed put the efort in and good permisions out there for ferreting doesn't have to be thousands of acres , Edited December 8, 2010 by Jamie m Quote Link to post
welshnutter69 78
both mine worked at 5months, get rid mate Quote Link to post
dave1600d 35
the answer to it not working is to get rid of it perhaps,,but some people have more patience/time than others to put into teaching the ferret to hunt,,,,i know nothing about ferret hunting at all and im the first to admit,,but to just kill it coz it wont work is not a good practice id say,,,just give it away or sell it to someone as a pet mate,,,theres lotsa people out there prepared to buy her off you no doubt,,,if youre not worried bout money ,,just give her away,,,after all,,,,,you wouldnt go and hit someone over the head with a spade if they wouldnt go to work would ya?,,just my own opinion,,,, Quote Link to post
kevin from bristol 95
Sorry If I upset you kevin the full time hunter poacher not sure which, yes I do only go out at weekends so do most folk who work , and when I do I take working ferrets that work from the off not pet ferrets that take time to train as I go to catch rabbits not to run around chasing shat ferrets allday and trying to catch a rabbit to take home and put in there hutch to trane them with , and any ferrets that ain't no good get moved on as I don't have all week to teach them to chase rabbits , that would be full time pest controller jamie and as much as you dont like the thought of a rabbit dieing as i can see from the your posts this practice works very very well this is one way to get it up to scratch fast is all , i use ferrets in my work as much as i can as there very good at what they do and sometimes depending on the client poisons are not allways an option so to call my work force shat as you say has had some very funny responses in this house Quote Link to post
IanB 0
Kevin, you sound like a tool, fancy posting about putting a live rabbit in a cage with a ferret on here.... wise up or your gone... I'm previewing your posts for awhile.. Quote Link to post
The one 8,469
AS ive said it costs the same to feed a good worker as it does a crap one and i know which id rather have .Good on you for taking the time to try and make the ferret work ,but its no every ferret that makes the grade . And unless your needing it for working just now you could pick up a good kit from working parents in a wee while Quote Link to post
