phil_h 53
phil she looks well mate malc hes a belter to. as you say saluki will be one of the best i allso think the collie is one more that would be neer the top of the list [/quote cheers dai, fair comment too, iv git a straight colly here, just a guard dog more that anything but she will run with the lurchers and herd them in almost lol. honest she does laps of the field. i get dizzy watching her. but i can imaging what that puts into a lurcher. oh and she jumps like a salmon too. lol. p.s these old pics of you ddai, u aint half a strapping young man in them lolol Quote Link to post
Tiny 7 1,694
Got a little 23'' bitch, Sal/Bull/Gh x Foxhound X Beddy/Whip x Wheaten/Gh and she really can run all night running 40+ rabbits/ect with ease beside the subaru, Could hang on a day time hare for a 2/3 min's not a problem within half a minute tounge back in ready to go again, Her stamina really is great best iv seen with my own eyes, Only thing she lacks is early pace and top end speed IMHO she is a very one paced bitch, Very honest bitch all the same But IMHO a line bred Sal/Gh will probley have the best stamina of all, Other breed such as Huskys/ect have unreal stamina but used in a diffrent ways to our sort of working dogs, (Pic Was Pre-Ban) Quote Link to post
phil_h 53
ps dai where do you get those dynamite sticks from that you put in the warrens. lol fair play Quote Link to post

bird 9,942
a fit saluki will take some beating for stamina and what about prey drive mate. mine seems to be constantly looking for something moving in the distance. with good stamina , its the recovery rate from each run, thats the differnce. .Ive run differnt xs over the years (collie, bull, bitza) all good dogs, but none could recover as quick from a run like a salukix lurcher. There is no breed of dog that can do it like a saluki, take herding dogs (collie, acd,.gsd ...) they will run all day long, prob as the same speed 27/7. But they could not run flat out ,say 30-35mph 20-30 runs in a night, they would be fecked, same as pit could not do it. They use a differnt kind of stamina to a running dog. But to get good stamina from a saluki x, you need at least 1/2. Quote Link to post
