skycat 6,174
Possibly dislocated, then gone back into place: problem is if you don't give it at least 3-4 weeks to heal it will keep on causing problems. Like R. says: without an x-ray you don't know. You could of course keep the dog on the lead for 6 weeks and hope that the problem will right itself, BUT if it was broken or there is bad ligament damage, it might heal in the wrong place and wil always play the dog up. See a vet. Quote Link to post

mick h 181
mate if you dont think its broke and just swelled up you can put is foot in a bowl of warm salt water, and cut the nail back to the quik and let it bleed, this will take the swelling out,and stop it calusing up.hope this helps. ihatealiens 0
could be anything mate. My son in laws dog had the same problem. Turned out a piece of glass had got in there through his foot and during a simulated coursing event at a game fair he broke down. The glass actualy shattered inside and he had had to have specialist treatment (cost a pretty penny I can tell you), MRI scans the lot to get all the shards out and had the toe removed due to tendon damage. Took him a while to adapt but hes back catching now and turning as good as ever. Gets sore feet when walking on firm ground (roads) so had to order a pair of boots from Canada for him - the things you do for your dogs Quote Link to post
