bsa ultra multi shot

ok guys what do you think of the ultra , im thinking of getting out but i here mixed reports . some say the power can be down out the box and also you dont get more then 35 shots per fill. but what do you think?

You say `out the box ` . well if im honest you would be better getting a second hand `regged ` or `blueprinted ` one . The shot count is low , 40 shots per fill at the most , but like i say , if its regged or blueprinted you wont have to worry bout that .The mags have a tendencey to stick , but im sure you can get a `fix ` for that on BSA owners Group , or BSAOG site . Ive had an Ultra , crackin little gun , handy for shooting from a car or in a confined space . All in all a decent gun , but without out `work ` it can let you down on the shot count . Bust

im looking at selling my hw90k to fund my new pcp path in hunting , will i feel let down with its power? ive been popping rabbits with my mates s510 and there is no way i can offord one so im thinking smaller

Why would you think a 510 is any more powerful than an Ultra ? There both sub 12 Ft-lbs . Maybe its the PCP factor that had gripped you , no recoil , ease of use , quiet ................ the list is endless

i was thinking more along the lines of weight, the hw90k is like lifting a small car to shoot. im only little ,with little arms lol. the s510 is lighter. ive held the bsa in the shop and there is no weight to it, and the amount of walking i do on a night out it would be so much easyer . plus ur point is valid , since both my shooting buds both have psp's ones got the s510 like i said and the other is shooting a rapid 7 custom

if your wanting a light pcp get a air arms s200 pre anti tamper

stacks better than ultras i think and you will get one in mint nick for 225-250

I would definately consider the s200 over the ultra.

Ive just bought 2 BSA Ultras myself, one second hand, the multi shot version in .22 calibre but in excellent condition from Gringo and the other a brand new .177 tactical single shot that I have had customised to the max, with just about everything important on it getting either tuned or customised by Tench. Its also had the Tech regulator fitted giving me 91 full power tuned shots with .177 Bisley Magnums at 11.8 ft/lbs .

 

I havent shot any of them as yet as they are still in the UK and I dont get them for another 3 weeks when Im over again.

 

The scopes that I have got for them both is the Hawke Sports HD IR 4-12x50 AO IR model with the mil dot reticule, something that will be good for close range stuff and max range sniping.

 

The silencer that I have already bought for them both is the Twink mark 2 (It wouldnt be any other).

 

Both rifles will be fitted with a brand new Ultra Fire R2 light and red bulb (not the filter) with the remote switch.

 

Im hoping that the .177 single shot will be a good rifle and serve me well over the next few years working side by side with my BSA r10.

 

Its going to be more of a night time combo and my r10 will be my day time sniping tool.

 

Ill do a review on it sometime over Christmas and post my results for people to read and see.

 

If it kills half as many vermin as my r10 has I will be happy with it.

 

The other rifle, the .22 is going to a good friend of mine for Christmas .

there a little on the heavy side though mate,

 

dident you say you wanted light? forgive me if iv read it roung.

 

with your logun just watch the loading. when you cock the bolt make shure you lock it ALL the way forwards other wise there a sod for jamming pellets in the barrel.not the guns fault its human error

 

its no big problem but its a pain in the arse..

 

was out with one meself at the weekend and owned one many moons ago. nice and powerfull and accuret.

 

dont be tempted to keep them in the take down bags, have found and may just be me. that the more often you remove the bottle the less amount of time the seal will last..
