venomviper 129
hi ya wurz pal i know what you mean matey after shooting pcp's for a good while then going and using my shotties it was mad and still good as it brings you back to old school wurz pal shay Quote Link to post
gurtwurz 792
youre not wrong shay, its good to go back to basics i reckon, makes using the fancy gear easier too(hopefully!!!) all the best, wurz Quote Link to post
zini 1,939
Hi John, Now that you have tightened up on you 95 shooting, just watch your shooting with your 100KT buddy You will be hitting things easier than ever before if you apply the same technique to your PCP as you use on your 95 One correct technique all rifles = dead vermin Si Quote Link to post
gurtwurz 792
cheers si, well we'll see about that in the morning mate, i'm off to the farm i took you to in the morning, for a spot of squizzer bashing if all goes well and i'm gonna take das kraut since the strap sweeney told me about(thanks again bill!!) has helped sort my tennis elbow, so i reckon i should be able to hold it ok now. would've taken the '95 but i haven't really worked out the trajectory at different distance yet, but wont be long... been so busy learning to shoot again that i havent even put it through the chrony or worked out the scope to barrel centre measurement for CGP to get a rough idea of where to look i put that optima super moonlighter on the '95 in the end, really good for low light shooting and very clear, i took it through that elder and hawthorn copse at the top of the valley to see if i could get a pheasant tonight but drew a blank due to the dog also having a taste for phezzers and acting like a daranged spaniel beating just as i was getting in range (25m ) and chasing the bugger off up and away no mil dots tho, so i guess it'll be a case of shoot at different ranges at the faithfull knockdown and working it in real conditions over the next couple of weeks before work cos chairgunners not really a help for old school scopes although that may be just me and computers all the best, john Edited November 14, 2010 by gurtwurz Quote Link to post
zini 1,939
Im sure that you will get your head around it pal. The old 30/30 reticule isnt such a big problem. When you do you shooting at different ranges stay on one mag and think about drop in terms of a cm's, then imagine that distance above the quarry KZ at that given range. Thats how i did it before i got my first bullet drop compensating (BDC) turret, Simmon Pro air. The mil dots, MAP's and SR6's and 12's are much easier though.
