These fish would have taken out alive from a holding tank and cooked very fresh, I would suspect a nervous reaction rather than still being alive. You could argue that we do worse things, we net the fish where they get crushed and sufficated and then alot are thrown back dead into the sea, these fish are brough alive to the market and sold alive.
