going to have a look a falcon fn19 as just getting into shooting wondered if anyone could help me in what to look for when purchasing a second hand gun

hello mate.

remove the stock and have a very close look to make shure there are no cracks, also have a look at the parts of the gun that the stock normally covers for rust or wear, while your at it check the screws for signs of undoing and if they appear to have been removed ask why and who did the work. a mashed up screw head is very often a sign of cowboy work.

if its pcp make shure it taking charge and holding it.

if there a scope on it have a look at the turrets if there maxed out then this should sound alarms.

the scope could be nakard or it could be the rifle. is the barrel alined correctly is it bent, so on and so forth.

if you can have a good few shots out of her, id say thats very important as it will help answer some of the above.

oh and above all make shure there not having you pants down over the price, nobody likes to be bent over and lubed up.

other than that just make shure shes in good condision for the price your paying.

all the best with her mate.

Which might mean the previous owner hadn't the foggiest what they were doing. If they've not set the scope up properly, what else might they have done wrong? I'd agree it's a cue to take a very close look at it and make certain everything is ok.

hi mate

yes dont mean there is deffo owt roung,

just im my exsperiance of buying 2nd hand guns it more often than not means the scopes nakard, as folk often go all the way through the clicks and then some, and naker the scope. instead of realsiing they just havent fitted it proporly.

as we all no its not very often that you have to go that far down the adjustment to get zeroed, just rings a few bells when buying.

or it could be that iv brought some guns of right numptys...lol
