artic 595
The day the ban gets lifted will be the day I give up hunting my dogs. It would be anarchy, have a little think about what would actually happen. Think about the amount of idiots that would run wild as more than ever. Not my cup of tea. That's the most interesting reply on the thread Artic. Seriously though, if the ban was lifted it would still only be legal for those with permission. There were no more "cowboys" before the ban than after and I'm sure most of us have done a little freelancing in the past. Quote Link to post

Guest crobinc840
If it is for hunting everything I don't see the point in changing something that has been breed for the job for centuries the Deerhound is perfect for the job. I'm not biased as I don't have one and since I don't like the taste of deer I'll never get one Quote Link to post

All the pure deerhounds I have seen have not been up to the job. I tasted gazelle once, and I too did not like it's taste, but that doesn't mean I wont have a saluki blooded dog. Quote Link to post

I just meant I would rather have a dog that is easier to maintain and does what I need especially since I would never hunt larger animals anyway. Every dog is different and might not do the job but they were created with it in mind. Many things make a dog good at the job not just breeding. The question was only about breed. Quote Link to post
