Sweeney-Todd 208
CAN ANYONE RECOMEND A CHEAP BUT USEFUL AIRGUN CHRONO.THANKS. Hi Dogvixen. A popular one is the Combro CB 625 MK4. I have one here that i use. But, having spoken to someone, I have my doubts about their accuracy now? They also need carfull handling and positioning on the rifle when in use. Seriously thinking of getting a better one at the moment, somthing like the F1. Just my thoughts, the chrono does an important job, and accuracy is important, so the extra cost is worth it. Not a bit of kit we use that often, so if you have shooting buddies, might be a good idea to club together and share the cost and use? ATB. Bill. Quote Link to post

Our post's crossed . Im not knocking your recommendation mate, just going by what I have heard. Not sure that the company who make the combo CB 625 are still trading??..... wonder if thats why the link you put up is out of stock?. Im seriously considering a change. ATB. Bill. Quote Link to post
zini 1,939
Hi Bill, No problems pal. I used to own one and I know Shay has one now. Like you said pal there ok but there are better ones out there, the little chrono is ok just for doing a quick check on your combo. I broke mine though by shooting it when using it, I nearly took my finger off at the same time. You need to be careful with them. I just put up the link as he asked for cheap. Like you said pal the best I've used is the F1 chrono. I bought mine for about £90 and use it more than I first expected. It's accurate to 7000fps and if you use it like I do and do 10 shot average strings it's ace for rifle calibration. I defo recommend anyone buying a F1, it's far better than any other I've used in the past. Si Edited November 12, 2010 by zini Quote Link to post
matt_hooks 188
The Combro has a very short measurement base, so loses somewhat in accuracy. For the extra £30 or so I'd go for an F1 every time. It's a great basic chrono, and upgradeable to your heart (or wallet)'s content, right up to a fully PC connective competition chrono. Mine lives in the boot of the car whenever I take the guns out (that's everything, from the legal limit air rifles right up to th shotgun and will use it for the full bore rifles too.) I got mine second hand but never used off eBay for £70, total bargain! Quote Link to post
Sweeney-Todd 208
Hi Matt. That was one of the concerns with the Combro Mk 4, the overall distance between the two censors. Also some of the componants. The extra £30 is a pain, but has to be worth it. Bill. Quote Link to post
Phantom 631
The law says we are allowed up to 12ft/lbs at the muzzle yes? The Combro gets as close to the muzzle as you can get It is however a tw@t though if using Co2 as the Co2 "Cloud" affects it greatly £40 wish we could get em round here for that price Phantom Quote Link to post
