what rifle to buy

Hi Im recently getting back into shooting having not been for a fair few years and am looking to buy an air rifle for around £350 but not sure whats the best for my price range any help guys?

Hi welkadan.

For £350 you could either get yourself a really superb spring rifle or maybe, a reasonable second hand Pre Charged Pneumatic rifle but you'll probably need extra for charging gear. Your money is your business mate but, if it was mine, I would be looking at....(in no particular order)

 

Weihrauch HW97K or 97KT.

Weihrauch HW80 or HW80K.

Weihrauch HW77 or HW77K.

Weihrauch HW95 or 95K.

Air Arms TX200 or TX200HC.

Air Arms ProSport.

 

For a bit of effort and practice the correct hold technique, you have a rifle among this list that will match ANY pcp for accuracy, with far greater reliability and simplicity of maintainance.

Hi pal,

 

With your budget you will get a nice rifle as Simon says above.

 

I'd personally get a HW95K in .22 calibre new for £284, then get a nice Hawke 3-9*50 AO mildot scope for around £45.

 

The high mounts (Guntuff) from JS Ramsbottom for £8, I used them on my HW97KT and HW95K and they are really good.

 

Ammo I would look at either

 

RWS Super Fields

Air Arms Fields

FX 16 grains or Exacts to start off with.

 

With this set up you will be able to shoot all UK legal vermin easily to your own personal max range.
