Rest and time is the only cure for KC, it's just like us having a cold or 'flu; lots of things help, but nothing cures it ! Cheers. sound advice C Quote Link to post
Guest stewie Posted November 11, 2010 Report Share Posted November 11, 2010 Run a boiling hot bath close the windows in the bathroom and wait until the bathroom gets steamy. Stick the dogs in the bathroom for half hour. The steams good for their throat. When my dogs get it I do that and it sorts it out. :laugh: ill remember that one!!! Quote Link to post
chester 147 Posted November 11, 2010 Report Share Posted November 11, 2010 if it kc the lymph glands will be swollen as well indicating infection. keep a close eye on the dog as it can in some cases lead to pneumonia. as said before keep the dog isolated and warm non drowsy benylin and honey mix with small amount tcp. atb chester Quote Link to post

The Hob 19 Posted November 11, 2010 Report Share Posted November 11, 2010 hello all, was just wondering if anyone can spread any light on this, think im off to vets in morning anyway but any ideas appreciated. went out with my mate an our 2 dogs tuesday night, his dog had a cough, he thought he had scratched it chewing a stick, his vet said the same, gave him some antibiotics and said keep an eye on it thought nothing more of it but good to get it checked, well after spending the night and day together yeasterday i have come home from work tonight to find mine now coughing in much the same way, like he's got something stuck in his throat. he sounds like he's trying to be sick also. im going to get him to vets asap so ill see what they say, but anyone had this before or any idea what it might be? either kennel cough mate but my bitch usually gets it from a furr of the rabbits if a have a good night goes in a day or two tho Quote Link to post
earthdogrunningdog1986 0 Posted November 11, 2010 Report Share Posted November 11, 2010 My dog went to da vets and she had kennell cough and da vet gave us a bottle of cough medicine with codeine in it and she was still coughing for about 5 weeks if uve got any other dogs keep dem away from them or it will spread right through all ur dogs I even kept my dog in isolation and they still caught it but the vets is da place my dog cought it from while she was getting spayed Quote Link to post
