Thanks lads. Next question is What to look for in a semi auto ?

And a good quality cheap make ?

In my experience you wont go far wrong with a Webley and Scott 810 semi. You'll be able to pick them up pretty cheap second hand-probably round the £280-£300 mark. Do a google search on them-never had any problems with mine.

Best way i find, is to go to small busy faimily shop, like down to earth place. Go talk to owner, see many type of gun you need, ask, can try for weekend, some do , some no. when you find gun you like , buy from nice man in shop. There is many many gun to try , no rush .

I have a hatsan escort, people say the older ones had feed problems,i have the new model and it feeds everything i put through it,you can get a decent second hand around the £300-£350 mark,i use mine for ducks, pheasant, wooddies and rabbits, its a great all rounder,if you are using it for wildfowling,go for the synthetic stock, then its just a wipe down to get rid of all the mud.

Benelli every time mate, not cheap but quality never is. I know a few rate the Hatsan, but a mate of mine had one replaced twice and took it back for a refund, it's no fun standing in a creek on the foreshore up to your ar&e in mud for 3 hours waiting for your only shot at a pink foot or mallard for it to just go "click" :wallbash: which is what happened to him. Not saying they are still bad but I wouldn't buy one personally from this experience.

the best auto to go for is a beretta 301,302,304, they are better than the newer models but they wont take a 3 1/2 inch shell or go for a pump action winchester or remington as they wont jam with any size shell like automatics do

I agree with scarecrow mate, I have shot Beretta 301, 302, 303s and never had a problem with either. You can buy any model for around £300/£400 second hand and are way better than any escort NEW.
