So heres to all our soldiers wherever they may be.and heres to all their families, I raise a glass to thee..Wear your poppy with pride send on if you support our troops!!!!! god bless all past and present atb gary Quote Link to post
zini 1,939
Here here Gary , Well said mate, i totally agree There are a lot of regs on here as well that are forces now or ex forces Has some of you will remember, my friend was shot in the head in Afghanistan 5 months ago and i went to repatriate him and then bury him in the Tidworth war cemetery. He died saving some other soldiers life’s that were in a massive contact and pinned down. He was attempting to run over a road and call in arty fires onto the Taliban position to get the lads out the fight of their lives. A sniper shot him through the head and killed him outright . He was a wonderful man, a good friend and is missed massively by us all. I dedicate your poem to him Gary and many like him. REST IN PEACE Mark Chandler All the lads and lasses are real heroes and they all have my utter and total admiration. Si It is with regret that the Ministry of Defence must confirm that Lance Bombardier Mark Chandler from 3rd Regiment Royal Horse Artillery was killed in Afghanistan on Tuesday 8 June 2010. Lance Bombardier Chandler was attached to 4th Regiment Royal Artillery, serving as part of Combined Force Nad 'Ali, and was killed in a small arms fire engagement with insurgent forces in the Nad 'Ali district of Helmand province.
