GRA.32 0 Posted January 1, 2007 Author Report Share Posted January 1, 2007 (edited) thanks for all the info its all food for thought. been going out with a lad who has pedigree racing whippet and a straight bedlington both work hard and fast but geting on a bit. had to dig for bedo yesterday followed my russel dog down. the whippet is fast as you like and not scared of work but all geting on a bit time to get some fresh stock in. really fancy a whippet and a boader terrier but not made my mind up yet [bANNED TEXT] do you think. sorry about your loss marko its always sad to hear when a good dog goes to the big set in the sky. my thoughts are with you Edited January 1, 2007 by GRA.32 Quote Link to post
whin 463 Posted January 1, 2007 Report Share Posted January 1, 2007 got whippet greyhound out of d slieghts boy blue and a distance greyhound she takes rabbits hare roe and the odd fox a nice bitch 23inches and strong she slaughters game, but i watch her for over doing it as no were the stamina of my saluks and collie saluk cross but a good animal all the same and didnt take much coaxing to get veni when it was legal Quote Link to post
marko 30 Posted January 1, 2007 Report Share Posted January 1, 2007 the dog depends on what you do really the whippet is a good allround dog and mustard on the ratting to be honest we have terriers and whippet and lurcher which is a good combo but the big dogs are that much faster so the little dogs dont get much of a look in if they are on form but the little dogs are unsung heroes because these are generally the ones knocking stuff out for whippet and lurcher if you want a dog for rabbiting and ratting then you cant go far wrong with a whippet hard as nails good luck with your choice.
