just out of interest who eats what they kill ? me myself i dont like to kill big numbers now i have done,, when i was getting a pound each four rabbits , but now like i siad its for the dog and me

To be honest a half grown hare isn't much food for a dog and doesn't show it's running well. Not meaning to have a dig, i just dont see the point of running EVERYTHING, you see a bit and pick out whats worth running on and whats worth leaving for a bit, otherwise it's just a numbers game or its pest control maybe for some, but not so much with hares.

yeah maybee so, but a young dog of nine month finding, coursing and catching in the light is something i was pround of, proud as punch mate.

Sorry mate wasn't referring to the original post, just the bloke who said the only good hare is a dead hare Obviosuly in the lamp its hard to tell sometimes and if it looks big enough you slip, but if out in the day an obvious leveret or half grown gets up and runs, do you always slip? Or can you just enjoy watching it, hope you meet again in a couple of months and then go find his daddy.
