Poor excuse for killing Britains most noble mammal if you ask me Quote Link to post

Yeah we catch them if the dogs good enough and the hare unlucky enough but its black and white with us, either lives unharmed or dies.... simples.... with you lot it either dies, gets away, suffers broken bones, wounds, lacerations.... dies a slow death in some wood.... bit of a difference. Nothing can out run a bullet so its an unfair advantage to you. But hey, you call it hunting all you want.... it sure is harder than shooting those tame, hand reared, too fat to fly, dumb as f**k, pheasants that you errr hunt... Quote Link to post
Gerry48 10
nice looking hare, nothing better than a nice hare roast mmmm as for all the comments I will poach and stuff the Law, Never come to East Yorkshire then, the law around me a actively seeking poachers or people coursing with more than two dogs, to prosecute, and when I mean actively I mean out regular during the night and day, they have already prosecuted and taking dogs of one bloke found with a hare, I know the ban is a f**k up, but at the end of the day breaching it is not doing hunting any favours we all want the ban lifted so we should be lawful and work together to try and get it lifted (what fingers crossed it will happen) as for running your dog at deer, looking at the pic she was no large game dog and you shouldn't be running dogs if you care so little (or have such little sense) for them and letting a small game dog have a go at large game Clare Quote Link to post

iceman001979 1,316
sorry but when a hare gets up in front off you does it have a sign on its back saying am a milky doe am a leveret am a big buck hare no you slip your dog and hope for the best. The season is from september to feb and in september your going kill leverets fact.A mate Was out two weeks ago caught 5 hares two bucks and 3 does two off the does full young ones at this time year if it happens it happens.Only good hare is a dead hare lamped or during day fair play to you fella and the dog sick death hearing all the rules from hare men if you lamp and there is a hare well the hare is fair play imoa. Sums you up really.... another coursing man l take it that hares are only for the day time who said you people like you don't look at hare coursing as hunting but a sport that is why it got banned Yes i do abit of coursing and i myself dont lamp hares with dogs. But saying the only good hare is a dead one is a fairly cuntish thing to say. If i go out on a sunday morning to get a few runs i dont mind if my dogs gets 3/3 or 0/3, for me its about watching the dog use the skills he has and the hare using his. I also eat any hares my dogs kill, i feel very sorry for you if you rely on catching hares to feed your dogs.. Things must be tough...... Am the same dont care if hare gets away it gets away but would like to be carrying one dead then one getting away no better feeling then your dog catching ahare dont need hares feed my dogs my dogs well feed and well looked after and people who know me on this site will tell you that your not getting my point he caught the hare with a lamping dog and a pup at that a hare in a big field will out run most lamping dogs its in the small fields they get caught people say there easy but l have seen the best off lamping dogs run to a stand still by hare on the lamp.Am not going say no more imoa a hare in a big field is fare play for a lamping dog Like i say if people want to lamp hares its upto them. But saying the only good hare is a dead hare is what i have a problem with. At the end of the day quarry deserves the utmost respect and be given a fair chance, whether its a rabbit, hare, pheasant or fox. I don't see lamping hares as giving them a fair shot just my opinion.. love that saying the quarry deserves the utmost respect if you respect them so much why slip a dog at them????? Because i also respect my dogs and what they have been bred to do for years. and do dogs not run a chase and catch or miss on the lamp?????? Quote Link to post
3 Turns 326
at the end of the day any lamped hare is nothing to shout about thats what im saying, its a diferent kettle of fish in the day Quote Link to post

IF ITS DEAD ITS IN THE POT FOR ME.3TURNS . yeah mate agree but theres a difference between hunting and coursing. would the old romany gypsys have given the hare fair law etc if they were relying on the hare for a meal. i use the hares either for my self or dogs. i dont own coursing dogs. not every one is into testing their dogs to the max and betting on it. lurchers also work different to coursing dogs and some with less speed use their brain, field craft and turning ability such as smaller lurchers. i have just got a saluki grey and wouldnt mind trying him on big fields daytime if i get the opertunity but the hares i hunt a smaller hilly fields. Fella why are you starting on people who shoot pheasants only one prick has started about it and that is a child with a airgun who hasn't the pocket money to even afford to come and shoot on a driven day. I do think that most landowners really take the easy option and say f**k it shoot the hare rather than grow some balls and front up to the lads as take the piss and instead of giving it the big man "I'll f*****g shoot yous dogs" give some of the lads a chance I did here and it worked a treat now we get no hassle and the lads with permission help look out for the place Edited November 13, 2010 by danw Quote Link to post
