cameroncharles 2
Hi folks, I'm looking purchase and use a night vision scope on a .177 s400. Only prob is alot of my permission runs near a dual carriageway. I'm wondering if the nv will be okay with occassional headlights or am I best only using well away from lights? I have been looking at atn's and ad-on yukon. Any advice would be appreciated as this is my first nv purchase. I shall be buying new. Many Thanks fellas for any comments. Cheers, Cam Quote Link to post
half n' half 8
to avoid damage take a look at a digital nv add on.digital nv is unaffected by light. a guy who frequents the airgunbbs by the name of baldie sells a well spoken of unit. Quote Link to post
rossi_j 99
I know nothing about nv but the guys who do wil dive on this thread im sure, my advice would be they are a lot of £££'s so do your homework (which is why your asking here i presume) and make sure you kno exactly what you want. Good luck with your purchase and im sure you wil have lots of fun with your new nv. .ste. Quote Link to post
zini 1,939
Hi cam bud, Quite alot of nv devices now have a shut off mech incorporated into them. This automaticially turns off the unit if too much light enters the objective lens, stopping damage to the unit. Look carefully for a unit with this utility. If you do have a budget of 1000 pounds then have a look at a pulsar n550 digital nv unit, pure mint and the quality is matched at gen 2+. I used to own a paladin nv rifle scope and had a large permission in catterick next to the A1. The road is always busy but my device was fine as I had the auto shut off. Hope this helps Si Quote Link to post

cameroncharles 2
thanks for the advice there fellas. Damn if it isn't a minefield out there for nv systems. Thinking nvmt4 with adopter for day scope seems to be the best comprimise on cash vs quality. Seems that they may have stopped doing the adopter though as cant find them on fleabay anymore. Got a recent quote of 575 for a new merlin with ir and adopter. is it me or is that a we bit steep? Cam Quote Link to post
