romany52 313
I ran a pure deerhound and a couple of first crosses, I found them very disappointing. I'm not saying deer hound crosses are no good , but I'm convinced that any merits they may have doesn't come from the deerhound. Quote Link to post
Guest arch1
This guy is getting on a bit now, but when we are out, even just for a walk, he's hunting. He gets fed up waiting for the Terriers to flush out anything, so he gets in there himself. He's quick in a straight line, but struggles with the turns. But he wont give in. He's a rescue so don't know what X he is, but been told he's Deerhound x Greyhound with a bit of Saluki. He likes Fox better than Rabbits. He's a good dog in the house too. Quote Link to post
terrierjohn 49
they were pure deerhound pups granted pure deerhounds are only good for 100 yards but with the collie and whippet the stamina is greatly improved and speed also with the greyhound i have had a few different crosses and i rate them highly with the rest Quote Link to post
bullmastiff 615
I hope that video was of show dogs being kept fit and nothing like the running style of a working DH? they were slow and cumbersome to say the least! I've tried finding a video of a decent DH running but there doesn't seem to be any? Anyone got some footage of one of these running properly? Quote Link to post
