juckler123 707
Hi shina i look for a dominant temperment followed by long back and legs if ive bred the litter then its the pup who does everything first theres usually one or two that are more forward Quote Link to post
Guest Frank
I tend to go for the shy ones, as i have found in the past, they train better, just my personall experince and feeling. Frank. Quote Link to post
heart of wales 19
Look for the pup that is first to come to you Then look at his condition of his coat nice and shiny His eyes hould have a nice sparkle Allow plenty of time to spend with the litter you will see the different characters The problem I have with all the litters of German Shepherds I have bred is as soon as someone comes to see them they are as bold as brass they all come to the front to greet and play I try to spend as much time with my litters as possible and as soon as their eyes open they are fed a variety with fresh bones daily to snack on Quote Link to post

Guest samstheman
I always rely on instinct (my fella always takes me along as he says a woman's instinct is usually spot on )As it happens, my instinct on two occasions have drawn me to the runts, but these 2 dogs have turned out to be top dogs, very faithful and excellent all-rounders. At the end of the day, a pup turns out according to how it is brought on by its new owner without the competition of its littermates. If you are looking for a pup, all the best to you. HAPPY NEW YEAR TO EVERYONE! Quote Link to post

Pennymeadow Whippets 0
HI LADS AND LASIES JUST READING MACCYS TOPIC AND GOT ME THINKING WHAT DO YOU LOOK FOR IN A LITTER OF PUPS WHEN THEY ARE READY TO BE SOLD. ALSO WHAT IS IT YOU LOOK FOR WHEN YOU WANT TO KEEP A GOOD PUP FROM THE LITTER. CHEERS HAPPY NEW YEAR. If buying a pup from another breeder i would find out as much as i could about the parents(working breeding ability ect) i would check all pups were healthy clean well socialised & be keen to see the mother in good condition showing that the owner has put the effort into his bitch & pups i would watch the litter playing & pick a strong active pup with the best conformation then its up to the new owner to train & get the best from that pup If i keep one from a litter i breed i have an idea what im after before the bitch is mated i do my homework on the breeding working/racing showing/lure coursing ability of the sire & what he has already produced so when the litter arrive i am there at the birth in case of problems as the pups grow you will have all the time you need to pick the one that suits you & quite often you will be picked by a certain puppy At the end of the day if the breeder has done the hard work pairing the right parents & put in the time worming feeding & socialising a healthy litter there should not be a great difference in the sibblings only personality hope this helps Quote Link to post
