RicW 67
Only read a couple posts the last few days but there seems to be a growing trend in simple spelling errors such as "pidgeon" (pigeon) and "ferrit (ferret) I know we aren't Einstein but come on people it's basic English. Please list any common mistakes you see below just as a sort of fun way of secondary education. Pidgeon (pigeon) Ferrit (ferret) Eeeh lad, if you start listing poor English usage found on THL, then you'll be here till Dick docks, and he ain't got a boat yet ! I read in a paper a few weeks ago that one in nine are leaving school functionally illiterate [ by whatever standard they are using to define " functionally " ] So while I'm broadly in favour of accurate spelling and syntax, I can't help but feel that your post is a bit like that little lad in the story, who tries to plug the hole in the dyke with his thumb. I tried that. Got a right smack upside me head.
