Skylark 3
all the smack heads and alcholics will rob the f**k out of everybodys houses then they will get put in jail at a cost of 40 grand a year how is that different to what they're doing now? this country does NOT owe them a living. that is the whole issue in a nutshell No but this country owed them an education and a future ! and it sadly failed millions. I left school at 15 with no qualifications whatsoever. Now I am an engineer working in the aerospace industry. I have never put my hand out for anything. Millions can say the same, that they made themselves a good life. Some use a bad start in life as an excuse. JMHO
johnny boy68 11,726
It won't make the slightest bit of difference, it's just another badly thought out idea to curry favour with the likes of yourselves. They are talking about four weeks a year, that's going to sway an employer to take on what most believe are work shy, long term no hoper's ?, no, it's just to con you lot. But if they refuse they'll lose their benefits you say , right ! they will loose their jobseekers and get income support instead, or they will just sign on the sick. It's just smoke and mirrors, they create a bogeyman for you all to hate, so they've got someone to clobber on your behalf, while you're busy looking at the scapegoats the fat cats are still taking all the cream, gullible fools ! What would be your plan to get the work shy off benefits? My plan would be to get anyone who aint worked for a year to take any job whether they liked it or not lets face it there aint many places you couldnt get a job in 12 months ps start with the long termed slackers first If thats your plan your forgetting one thing.......say somebody got forced into taking a job with minimum wage they have to pay £100 a week rent plus gas, electric and shopping for the family I'm not a mathamatician but I can work out its not going to be enough. And who would go out and work to be worse off?Not many I bet.....its just a goverment smoke screen imo
chalkedup 14
im pretty much the same, left school at 16 but before the exams started but that was my choice, the education system was there you just have to actualy be willing to learn and not sit there doing nothing, i dont need a bit of paper to say what i know i claimed dole when i was unemployed about 18 years ago and havnt claimed a penny since even when i was out of work ive been self employed most of my life as a painter and decorator and now making and selling my own fishing bait and i dont even earn close to dole money alot of the time you get out what you put into life

robo-christ 40
i don't like the idea of being forced to work. because when i left the army i wanted a couple of months off just to get the house sorted (i'd saved more than enough to do this while supporting myself) etc when i went the citizen's advice beurau(sp?) i was told i had to sign on if i wasn't either working or retired! so that in effect mean's i could of been forced into doing manual labour, for far below minimum wage against my will. fair enough now they say you'll just get your benifits cut if you don't do it, how long before they decide it would be more profitable to force people to do so by threat of jail/heavy fines etc? which then effectively s slavery Edited November 8, 2010 by robo-christ

JMHO Yes, and some don't, but they never recover from their bad start, they can't all get the breaks. I'm Romany ,my father couldn't read or write, I started work at the pit three days after my 15th birthday, I've never made excuses and by the way , my two oldest lads have been through university and my youngest is hopefully on the way. So no excuses, but even if I say so myself, not bad for a bunch of pykies. Having said all that I've been through hard times myself, when no matter how hard you try, you just can't get the breaks. I'm not defending them I'm just stating facts thats all.........what if you have young kids pre-school they supposed to look after themselves?Or should all unemployed mens wives/partners be sterilised aswell?I think you're getting confused between unemployed people who "can't" find gainful employment with people who "don't" want a job! Either that or they would have been taking a one way trip into a forest. Try telling the Adolf you to fat to walk to the bus stop.
