mangy1983 51
I recently took the open sights of my Winchester Model 70 and am now looking for somewhere to buy plug screws for the remaining holes but the only place l could find them was here at Midway and l am also not very sure what size to get... Any ideas? cheers Callum Edited November 7, 2010 by mangy1983 Quote Link to post
matt_hooks 188
If you take the screws that came out to a decent gunsmith he will be able to tell you what thread they are, He will probably have screws to do the job too. Quote Link to post

activeviii 8
make one yourself. 2 minute job. find a black screw that fits. cut to length and then cut slot intop with junior hacksaw for a nice thin cut. fine file the top that you have cut and then a bit of a polish with wet/dry paper. little pot of oil, blow torch or even gas ring on stove. hold the grub screw with old pliers but at bottom of thread. heat up to red hot and then drop into the oil. i would do this a few times to get the colour a dark black. its not going to be holding anything so dont worry about the tempering of the thread. if you dont what to use oil and heat you could just do it with a little blueing gel.
