HFT in the morning

Hi every one

Chaz, andyz, & I popped over to the HFT club this morning to have another plink round the course. I decided to use some daystate range master .177 because I was too lazy last night to was and lube the tin I had just bought for a shocking £9.95

So thought I would give the range master’s a go, but not that good in my barrel .only managed a score of 42 out of 50,any ways it wasn’t about the points it was about having a laugh and a social meet, we got there @ 10am and left @ 1pm.chaz and andyz had other things to do, I went home for a bit of lunch then back out @ 2 pm, I went over to a permission we have about 5 minutes away horse paddocks ,we have rid this paddocks bar one. Which the land owner is very pleased with; last time I was over here I missed the little sod, so thought I would have another go!

I asked Neil the owner has he seen many since our last visit, and he said yes one!

So I set of to the far side of the paddocks and laid down and waited & waited & waited,

After a small power kip I awoke to see the bunny out on the fence line. I ranged it with my guntuff range finder and showed 48 yds. And going by this morning on long range with the range master’s I decided to leave it to see if it would come closer, but it didn’t.

So after awhile I started to make a move to the right hand side of the paddocks, as I was moving albeit slowly it had scarped, so I took myself and got right tight to the fence line! And wait & waited & waited, then I got up slowly again just to stretch my legs and stood for a while, because I could see over the fence and it would give me an advantage. As I was waiting a magpie landed in a tree not more than 15yds away, but had to let it go as it was out side the boundaries DOH!!

A few wood pigeons were landing too but out of range for the range master’s as I didn’t trust them at longer ranges, if I had my AA field I would deffo had the wood pigeons. As I was panning the under growth for movement, some thing caught my eye and there it was the last of the paddock clan, I could just make out its ears but decided to wait. It seemed like ages I waited watching its every move through my mamba 4-16x50 scope,

Then one leap to the left and a little graze, my scope following all the time waiting for the shot, then another leap and a graze. It was one more leap away from my clear line of fire in to the paddock, as I follow it I got my self stable to take the shot because as soon as it showed its self in the paddock it may have clocked me, as I was only 15 yds away from an earlier ping! On the LRF

It raised its head had a look around and took one final leap, straight in to my sights. And crystal clear image as it turned its head to the side to graze, not even noticing I was there!

I placed one mildot hold over on the kill zone THWACK!!! It just thrust forward and gave a high leg hick, stretched its claws for the last time and rested for ever!!

To me this was one of the good shots I have taken as the work what went in to it. Although it was the only bunny of the day or should I say the only one left, it was more rewarding. Because I let it get away twice before!

Sorry to go on, but you know I do like to tell the days hunting tale.

Hope you enjoyed

Happy hunting

Regards

Davy

Brilliant read as per usual Sir

It's nice to know when you've cleaned up on a clearance job aint it

Have to admit though; I actually felt really sorry for the lil' bunny, being the sole survivor of its clan, I'd hte to be alone like that

Still it'll not be lonley now you've given it its free pass to the big carrot field somewhere in the universe :victory:

Soz bud, but you'll have to wait til tomorrow for the SP as I'm all out today (how many of these things do we get to give out per day? anyone know?)

Again excellent work, proud of yah bud
