x38 179
just having a debate with my freind he saying he doesnt think a heavy bullx could catch fox pre ban of course. single handed but i think even heavy dogs find away 2 do there job evem if they aint got the speed they make up 4 it some over way. i have firstx bitch 3 genration shes not heavy but she does it on her own. so if any 1 out there has a heavy bullx that does it on there owm please put some pics up 2 prove my freind wrong cheers lads happy huntin. bird 9,861
i think if you want a out out fox dog a racey 5/8 3/8 or a 3/4 quater bred thats just my choice. what ever the % dont really mater, its the weight that counts. To much weight you loose agilty, my last2 bullxs were 70- 77lb. They were fast+agile, and unless you get the fox close, you will need all that agilty catch the fecker. A fox is fast and can turn like hares at times . Quote Link to post
derekbrown 176
if lucky you can get some racey enough 1st crosses but most are too heavy.lamping foxes is my main thing and a dog has to have speed and be well able to turn.a lot of lads dont realise how fast a fox can run and turn Quote Link to post

tag 29
ive recently got rid of a 1/2 x , it was very racy and i didnt think it would do the job i got it for , and wasnt prepared to take that chance , the chaps that got it is very happy with it so far, but persionally i think if its foxes in mind then get something bred for foxes, why take a risk , Quote Link to post

Spot on Ray , was once out with Andys Jenna and Tug , both good fox dogs , slipped them , the fox lay on his belly , when they got to him he jumped over both of them and ran off , we couldnt believe it , as you say they are a very tricky customer !!!
