I am a bit slow on all this . The green brigade are a group of hard core Celtic fans basically. They wont be wearing poppies because of what it symbolizes. The majority of the troops sent over to Ireland after the first world war, during the war of independence were animals and did some horrible things to ordinary people, so people generally dont wear one. We have our own remembrance Sunday in July, it commemorates all our war dead, both great wars the war of independence and our civil war. Shame it's not a 2 day event ............
