tinklefod1 21
Thought id go for a quick shine out, conditions wernt great, still night, no wind etc etc the usual,,,,,,, wasnt expecting much to be honest as my dog is a turd! drives past a field and spots a bunny so i slipped him then it stood up!!!! my mate was very fast and shot it, he retrieved it pretty impressed with him so far but the night is young jumps in the motor and heads off for my other permission, Got there and off we go, first field ran 1 for a warm up turned him 3 or 4 times and guess what.....he missed it oh dear i thought, moves onto the top fields and he kind of came to life missed 2 and caught 11 lol he was on fire really really trying after them and getting turned inside out brilliant to watch, i have to admit i dont see the point in lamping hares (i know daytime is sssoooo differant) when bunnies can provide so much enjoyment when you get a good run (that might be just me lol). Went farther up the road and there was a couple sat in the corner so i slipped him off on them and he took one "gettin" i thought started walking upto him as he will not really retrieve bunnies, he is just a TURD! he was fighting to get a better hold, when the bunny sprung free and away into the wall it went aaaarrrrgggghhhh lol same with the next then he got the shock of his life when the next turned him and turned him oh and did i mention it turned him lol i thought it was getting away but no he nailed the little sucker and brought it over to me, fair play i nearly fainted my turd of a dog actually retrieving a rabbit!!!! how shocked was i lol any how things went back to normal on the next one and he just stood there waiting for me to goto him lol all in all not a bad night his recall is improving as he is getting used to following the lamp now, it might be just me but im finding it harder with this dog as this is his first proper season as i have waited patiently as i can and have only had him out 3 times backend of last year, i usually just work them asap but have kind of learnt your dog dont last very long in terms of working years my first dog was knackered by 7, only good for the odd night here and there, slowed right up on hare, and my last dog buster only lasted till he was 6 and sadly had to be pts with tink as above have tried to wait he is now maybe 17-19month and im only just letting him go fingers crossed he'l keep going as he is really starting to impress me now he retrieved a day time hare last week 4 fields to say i was chuffed is an understatement, oh and below is a pic i know there is only 11 there but that was after the top fields il take one 2mora of them all, and also the long ear my mate shot and the dog brought back. me mutt is now curled up on the sofer with a full belly pushing out the zzzzz's lol he's such a turd.....
