longnet end pegs

Hi, been ferreting for many years but never used longnets, bought a 25 yard one from a show over ten years ago and have decided its about time I utilised it.

I have set it up in the yard at work on five 30 inch by 1/2 inch fiberglass poles and spread all the slack out between them, but I am unsure about fixing the top and bottom lines to the end pegs.

It may sound a daft question but i know bugger all about longnets, any advise from those in the know would be greatly appreciated, or if anyone would be kind enough to give me a practical demo even better as all the dog and ferret work Ive ever done has been learn,t by trial and error as theres no one around where i live to learn off.

Also I want to use rubber grommets to hold the net to the poles, as i once read on here someone else using them , could anyone enlighten me?

You can fix them on using rubber grommets

or castration bands get them from farming supply stores

use an old bycicle inner tube cut into loops as bands,,,,,,have you seen the dvd "the art of longnetting" in not I would highly recommend it.

 

thats how i learned at the start of this season.
