oldsilver 0
Hi, a mate of mine is desperate to have a ferret but lives in a flat, now I have heard a few times about people keeping them indoors and even house training with cat litter trays? but have never actually spoke to one. Does any one have any expiriance of this, or do you use one of them indoor runs like you see for the rbbits ect,? and what about the smell?. Is this really practical? any help on this would be appriciated. Edited November 6, 2010 by oldsilver Quote Link to post
proper22 5
To be honest they would stink the place out abit mate.... i spose thay could be trained to use a litter however mine in there 4ft by 10ft court tend to shit in any f**king corner not a specific one, so it would be a risk. Also personally i wouldnt do it- No misses would be impressed. Quote Link to post

kx100 66
Well i live in a flat and have a big big rat cage thing that my 5 ferrets live in i also work them but we need to clean them out evry 2 days Quote Link to post
Guest crobinc840
Yes I have a jill and hob indoors in a three level cage. You can get ferret deodourizer spray if they are smelly but I just bathe them once in a while, wash their hammocks and flannel blanket weekly and clean the cage every other day. They are out whenever they are awake and they will go back into the cage to use the toilet. I put any accidents in the spot of the cage that I want them to use and they got the hint real fast. The puppy has more accidents than the ferrets Quote Link to post

ferretsandhawks 47
if you get them neutered it does reduse the smell and you can litter train them but a ferret kept outdoors is alot more hardy and less prone to illness but i do know several people who keep them indoors, good luck mate and i hope they are gonna be workers not pets!! Can't you keep them as both just like the dogs After all they are the ones that get the rabbit out of the hole in the first place. Quote Link to post
