Steve Albano 21
Here's a link to a presentation I did at an educational seminar a few days ago. Pest Controllers here have to take these types of classes to maintain their licenses--I imagine there is some similar requirement in UK. Lot's of pictures of moles, gophers, and voles, and the damage they cause here in California. Check it out if you're interested, and you don't even have to listen to me talking about it all. If you want to look through the slides, best way to do it is to hit "start presentation" in upper right, and then scroll through the slides by clicking the arrow at lower left. Steve Albano 21
Thanks, Dave, the gophers really are the more damaging of the three, as they do severe damage to turf, and also eat the roots off landscape plants, and are an agricultural pest. But where we work in landscapes, we probably catch at least as many moles as gophers. There are lots of moles here in the landscapes. Our general climate here is a little too dry for them, but they really love the irrigated landscapes with all the soft soil and organic amendments. the mole slides start about half way through, by the way.
