Bull x Whippet

Just wondering about a few things, are there many dogs out there of this breed bull x whippet that makes a good working dog, or is it preferred to have a greyhound breeding instead? I know whippet x bulls are hard to come by these days, are they hard to find cause they dont make a good worker or people dont tend to put the 2x breeds together or as soon as a litter is up for sale they are all taken?

you see many ads these days of bull x greyhounds for sale for many reasons but hardly ever bull whippet.

I think all down to the size and power of the dogs I like to give the bull/whippet a go I think they make cracking rabbiting lurchers I go for a 3/4 whippet 1/4 bull than a first x

Thinking about it did the whippet have a staffordshire bull terrier out cross

seen a couple work thought they were decent little dogs although id probably go for a 3quarter whippet.

some people have put bull, staffs an even engligh bull terriers into the breeding, also recently seen whippet x jack russells

A mate of mine has a 3/4 bred whippet bull and it does him proud. Stands at 23" TTS which is bigger than I thought it would make.

my uncles old first cross bull whippet, did all that was asked of the dog and more. Sadly no longer with us

when I was a lad you saw a lot of staff/whippets about, generally good grafters and as most around here mainly wanted them for pot fillers they did the job.

The smaller workers seemed to lose out a bit when hare coursing came into its own and folk moved on also there are more of the the big rabbits about with antlers now than there ever was.

As I say most kept pot fillers, a lot of familys wouldn"t have seen a deal of meat without them.

My dog is a bull/grey x saluki back to a laguna whippet he is 14 month old going well little belter on the rabbits he is standing at 23 tts will post pics when i finish work
