we was with swinton. had an old focus, and when it was time to renew the policy, they sent some paperwork saying they no longer thought it feesable for them to insure us. i asked why and they said it would be too expensive. i asked why, and how much it would be. they said 12000 quid. because of the area that we live in.

the car was only worth about £400. me and my partner have no points. no convictions. i have been driving for 20 yrs.

the car was getting a bit passed it so i got shut and got a little 307. got a new insurance company aswell. miles cheaper. think i use compare the market to find it.

They've all gone up by about 40% on private car insurance, it's gone daft.

 

I'm 41, full NCB, no points or claims and it's just cost me £550 to insure a 1.7dti Astra on a 51 plate, FFS!!

 

Just shop around, mate and good luck.

Na, sold it about 3-4 months ago. I decided it was time to get somethin sensible

Ive got a Skoda Octavia Vrs Diesel Estate now, nice to drive and the dogs can go in the back

I do miss the Evo though

Hello , .. are any of you guys with a decent car insurance company ?

mines going bust ive tried a few qoutes but

they all 600 quid more than what i pay now ?

I always insured my evo's with A Plan Insurance at Thatcham because they were great with modded vehicles, but i've stayed with them since because they were cheapest for my 4x4 too.

I hear ya, dude ! I was gutted when i sold my VIII, but V power at 1.30 a litre, coupled with a house move meant it just had to go. They're lovely toys, but a killer to run as a daily drive.

Adrian Flux by far cheapest for me

 

They wanted 12 grand off me fully comp for car costing 10 grand.

 

As said. Go onto confused or similar to get some quotes then go direct to the broker and see If they can do It any cheaper...

I hear ya, dude ! I was gutted when i sold my VIII, but V power at 1.30 a litre, coupled with a house move meant it just had to go. They're lovely toys, but a killer to run as a daily drive.

I used my Evo VIII daily and covered approx 15k per year, expensive fuel and servicing bills

To be honest though I never had any bother with the car, the only thing that went wrong was the AYC pump in the last few months I had it.
