I'm wandering around in my CONTROLS section when I spot MANAGING YE ATTATCHMENTS. Being always of a mind to understand the inner workings of fora, I took a shufti. Interesting! It lists ALL the shots ye've ever shown on this site ..... Then it enumerates each ones number of " Downloads ". What's that mean then? I'm figuring it maybe means how many times some bugger's copied that picture for themselves? Or maybe it has to do with Google? Only - amazingly, frankly, by any other criteria - I see that my shots of plants and fungii seem to have by far the best 'take'. Now, I can't really see too many of you lot covetting my pictures of mushrooms or Knapweed. So could it maybe be that a search of Google / Images will bring up those shots, and then this place record the fact that someone, somewhere has chosen to use el Shitters shot of said thing, took it and scuttled off to show it on their own forum? Squirrel_Basher 17,100 Posted December 30, 2006 Report Share Posted December 30, 2006 Ditch -It would be very nieve[spelling] of anyone to consider a pic on the internet as "safe" in any shape or form .Dont know the legal position as to who they belong to? .I had a typing battle with a twat who nicked a pic of mine off here and used it on another hunting forum as his own !.He was removed Im told when rumbbled but too late ,it happened .Any other pic ,other than the one nicked and I would of been flattered . I know it doesn't, legally. But no one takes a blind bit of notice of such niceties. (Think: Ian Woods / UK(Insert Pest Here)Control ! ) Even 'Watermarks'. I once saw someone, in a forum, say, " Hey, what do ye think of my swish new Watermark? ". FIVE MINUTES LATER someone had slung the shot back up again; Sans water mark! There's Free software out there than can wipe a Watermark at a click. F*ck it. No, I really don't mind in the least if someone nicks my shots. We all do it. Long as they're not trying to kid people They caught what I show, any underhand shit like that. And, as said; My most popular shots appear to be fungii and plants. Not much wrong that anyone can do with a nice, clear shot of a flower They're welcome to them. Just wondering if that Is what it all means.
