First Lamp

Recommended Posts

What do you reckon to this kit for a first lamp?

Im guessing thats everything i need there, lamp, battery, shoulder strap.

Is that about the right price?

Im not looking to get one for 6 months or more as my pup is only young but just pricing up.

Cheers

The striker and battery combination should be fine, although if you can afford the extra go for a lithium ion battery which are much lighter (only about a third the weight of conventional batteries). Also as, Chartpolski has said, the lamp pictured has the 240mm blitz head not the handier 170mm striker although they both use the same 100w bulb.

Can you buy the striker 170 and then get pretty much any Li-Ion battery?

Anyone know where you can get Li-Ion batteries at a good price?

I might buy a Striker lamp 2nd hand as there seem to be loads around in for sale section. Then buy battery new.

At the moment lithium ion battery packs are only made by Deben: www.deben.com/lithium-ion.html but if you shop around you may be able to find someone doing them cheaper than Deben. The price of the pack includes chargers and a belt pack
